Cappuccini Resort, located as in a fairytale castle on the top of Monte Orfano, is a unique place in the world, a rare example in Italy of complete and philological recovery in a receptive key of an ancient Franciscan convent dating back to 1569.

For more than two centuries, a house of religious and men of letters, a contemplative place aimed at the direct production of the land, in the nineteenth century it became the property of noble families from Brescia and then remained abandoned for over 60 years, until Rosalba Tonelli Pelizzari, at a very young age, was so fascinated by it that she decided to buy and starting a courageous conservative restoration.

Completed in 1993 with the opening of the hotel, followed by the inauguration of the swimming pool, the spa, the Cucina San Francesco restaurant, as well as vegetable gardens and vineyards, the Resort today offers a truly unique experience. Guests can, in fact, choose from 14 rooms named after the monks who lived there and experience an energetically magical stay enraptured by the charm of antique terracotta floors, antique fireplaces, wooden beams and many antiques.

Piece by piece, Rosalba has, in fact, sought furnishings that could, even historically, be appropriate to the place, such as the fifteenth-century painted glass window placed behind the reception, the ancient curtains and sacred vestments, the refectory tables and the poor art tables that furnish the restaurant.
The superb deconsecrated church with ceilings of over seven meters from which important Murano chandeliers hang is today the scene of important events and celebrations.

Overlooking the ancient cloister of the convent, do not miss dinner at the Cucina San Francesco restaurant, also open to non-guests of the structure, managed by the sommelier Marco Pelizzari, son of Rosalba, and one of the greatest wine experts and collector of important bottles of the Franciacorta. Ask him to visit his “secret” cellar, obtained from the ancient well of the convent, and let you taste some special vintages.

In the halls of the restaurant, every morning, a delicious breakfast is served that includes jam, bread and cakes, all homemade using in particular what is grown in the Resort, such as fig trees, apples, grapes and strawberries.

In summer, the outdoor swimming pool with sun loungers and umbrellas for sunbathing is truly a marvel, while, in the former convent, 500 meters from the main building, there is the spa with indoor pool, turkish bath, sauna, wellness path and fitness areas.

More than a resort, Cappuccini is a journey through time and history of a place that has preserved intact all the flavor of a millenary past.

The Secret

The former parlor of the convent has been transformed into the Reception where Rosalba welcomes her guests in a small living room, actually a rare prototype on a reduced scale that the furniture makers of the past prepared for the noble client so that they could evaluate them.
