A wonderful farmhouse with rooms, infinity pool and rustic chic restaurant located between an enchanted forest and a hill overlooking the valley from which you can enjoy a splendid view of Lake Como.
The name derives from the ancient toponym of the three hamlets of the town of Pianello del Lario, on which the bucolic farmhouse stands, located on the west coast of Lake Como.
Little has changed to date: the main building that houses the rooms of the small widespread hotel is still built in the original stone, as well as the ancient terraces that housed the crops are still used for agricultural production in Treterre and all around the landscape is almost totally dominated by the beauty of nature.
At the Treterre everything is designed to give peace and tranquility, following the rhythms of nature.
The project began a long time ago: since the owners’ family began to buy the land all around in the 90s, slowly arranging the cottages and farmhouses that populated them. So in 2010 Treterre was born, in an area of about 3 hectares of cultivated and wooded land, on which the farmhouse and the wonderful panoramic restaurant stand.
As well as the natural methods of agriculture, everything in the Treterre is designed to be in harmony with the surrounding nature, starting from the interior, almost completely made with recycled materials and furniture from old family homes.
Fancy a tip? Arrive in the dark and ask for a room facing the lake: when you wake up, opening the balconies, you will be blinded by an unexpected wave of blue, that of the infinity pool, overlooked by many of the delightful rooms framed by lavender flower beds, and a few meters that of the sky that joins the thousand colors of Lake Como.
The breakfast is one of those that you will never forget: served on the wonderful panoramic terrace, it is based on all the delicacies produced in the farmhouse, first of all their famous blueberries, juices, jams, homemade cakes and many other sweet and savory proposals, many of which are also for sale in the small shop called Bottega.
In the restaurant, open every evening except Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday also for lunch, in winter housed in romantic rooms with stone vault and fireplace, and in summer in the panoramic alcoves in wrought iron overlooking the lake or on the tables under the pergola, traditional dishes are served. Almost everything is produced internally, organic vegetables, fruit, oil, flour, while the rest of the raw material is purchased from local farms.
On the menu, classic local recipes such as polenta taragna with herbs or pappa antica, the yummy pasta courses such as gnocchi stuffed with San Martino goat ricotta, beetroot and helichrysum or pappardelle with black garlic, goat and horseradish sauce, up to with second courses of meat and fish from the lake such as rack of lamb with herbs, chard and potato mousse or roast trout from Punt di Reseg, wild herbs salad and Dutch with lemon.
The view is enough to make the trip worthwhile.
All the farm’s products, including their famous blueberries, are picked fresh and sold in the small Treterre shop located down in the village, absolutely worth visiting!
