Ristorante ROTEO (CO)
On Lake Como, with a wonderful and unique view of Isola Comacina, ROTEO is the fine dining restaurant managed by chefs Robert Moretti and Matteo Corridori, childhood friends who grew up on the lake and who, after starred experiences all over the world, have fulfilled their dream of hospitality here.
Opened in 2022 inside the 5-star boutique hotel Musa Lago di Como, in 2024 ROTEO was chosen as “Best Fine Dining Restaurant in Italy” at the World Luxury Restaurant Awards 2024.
The reason for its rapid success lies behind 3 dreams that came together and came true in a magical twist of fate. That of the English-born entrepreneur Claire Gray, who in 2020 purchased the property that now occupies Musa to create her first 5-star Italian “home”, and those of chefs Robert Moretti and Matteo Corridori who, after having toured the world in haute cuisine, wanted to create their own reality right in the town where they were born.
That there is a God is evident when you look at the sky of Lake Como.

The “starred” stops of their travels – from the Bulgari Hotel in Dubai under the guidance of Niko Romito to the Hélène Darroze at the Connaught to The Gilbert Scott, restaurant of the St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel by Marcus Wareing, both in London – can be read in the impeccable execution of dishes that are both entertaining to the eye and the palate.
There are two main tasting menus to choose from, ROTEO, with a selection of the best signatures of the two chefs, and Né Carne Né Pesce, in which each course contains both meat and fish. The prelude to a wonderful evening can already be sensed from the amuse-bouche and the appetizers in which you are amazed, just to give a few examples, by a bouquet of flowers served at the table in which edible butterflies are hidden or by the delicious Terrine of foie gras, 24-month Parmigiano ice cream, almonds and raspberries.
The main courses dance between Asia and British references, favoring local ingredients, such as the Cuttlefish Shabu-shabu, oriental beef broth, Roast Chicken Buttons, Mazara red shrimp, red gold saffron, parmesan foam, or the Pike Perch “Wellington style” with liquorice, lake beurre blanc.
The wine pairing is taken care of by Vladimir Giudici, a sommelier who will enchant you with wines that he explains through the sensations they give and beautiful stories of wineries and winemakers.
For the aperitif, you must sit at the counter of Gaia Bar, where the bartender Luca Salvioli will delight you with ever-changing cocktails and classic drinks designed to entertain you with suggestions from the world of the lake and its muses.
The restaurant design was entrusted to the Claudia Kempen Concept studio, which used precious materials, from marble to oak wood, and the relaxing colors that characterize sunsets over the lake, creating a room with an elegant, timeless design.

The Secret
The name ROTEO comes from the union of Robert and Matteo. The restaurant is located where once stood the Taverna Bleu, a lake fish restaurant where the two chefs used to go as children.
