A few meters from the Darsena in Milan, I Mirador are two panoramic terraces with a swimming pool, part of the lifestyle hotel 21 House of Stories, from which you can admire one of the most spectacular skylines of the city.
A breathtaking view: the one reflected in the waters of the pool on the seventh floor of 21 House of Stories, the hotel inaugurated in 2023 and born from an idea by the entrepreneurs Alessandro and Mauro Benetton with the vision of creating a space, open to the city, that combines hospitality, entertainment, food and co-working.
The name is inspired by the Spanish word “mirador”, a belvedere but also a symbol of the redevelopment, especially in Madrid, of many urban skyscrapers. There are two terraces, designed as squares suspended over Milan that in the evening, from 7 to midnight, become a meeting point for informal aperitifs with friends (by reservation).
From here you can enjoy a 360° panorama that is definitely worth a visit, from which you can admire the Naviglio Pavese and all the symbols of the city, from Citylife to the Torre Velasca, from the Duomo to San Siro.
The design is Made in Italy with bright colors, both in the furnishings and in the cocktails, which are based on the Tiki Mediterraneo concept.
To accompany the mixology, you can order the Mediterranean Assaggi, a selection of savory pies, assorted focaccias and savory finger food, or the Portamisù, sweet pastries handmade by the chefs of the Bistrot Domenica located on the ground floor of the Hotel.
And if today I Mirador has become one of the symbols of sociality in Milan, it is interesting to know that the building complex was built in the 1960s by SIP, the Italian Telephone Service Company, a forerunner of Telecom, in order to house a telephone exchange and related offices. A vocation for “connectivity” that seems to have remained in the DNA of the location.
The Secret
The number 21, which accompanies many of his projects, seems to have brought luck to Alessandro Benetton who chose it in 1992 when, at just 28 years old, he founded 21 Investimenti with the idea of looking to the future, to the Twenty-First Century.
