Located in a beautiful panoramic position, Filario was born from the dream of Alessandro Sironi, a lover of the hotellerie industry by family tradition, to create, where a wire factory once stood, a contemporary design hotel inspired by the traditions of Lake Como and to a sustainable philosophy.

Opened in 2015 Filario Hotel & Residences is, in fact, a tribute to the city of silk, as Como is nicknamed, also in the etymology of the name: from “filo” and “Lario”, the Latin name of the lake. The design was curated by Alessandro Agrati, founder and artistic director of Culti, who let himself be guided by the colors of the surrounding nature, creating a wonderful chromatic continuum between the 13 rooms and the panoramic terraces each one is equipped with.

With its private beach and panoramic rooms, Filario enhances the unique characteristics of Lezzeno, made of breathtaking views and a wild nature.

The details of the interior are a tribute to the manufacturing tradition of the place, such as the glass cloches that contain scraps of silk, the paintings that reflect the processing of the fabrics, the linen sheets by Frette or the solid wood furniture created by local artisans of the nearby Cantù. To break up the blue, grees and gray shades of the furniture, a refined antique pink inspired by the flower of Lake Como par excellence, the elegant hydrangeas that decorate every corner of the resort.

Filario has many uniquenesses: being the only design hotel on this shore of the lake, the only one to have a private beach and also the first one in the area to be a Tesla Destination Charging point as well as to inaugurate a charging station for electric boats.

The private beach houses a scenic infinity pool and the Yeast Side beach bar where you can have lunch (the pizza is delicious) or a cocktail prepared by barman Luciano Gusmeroli while enjoying a wonderful view of the lake.

Also open to non-guests of the structure, Filo, the hotel’s gourmet panoramic restaurant, is led by the Campania chef Alessandro Parisi, with both international and starry experiences behind him, offering excellent cuisine based on the best flavors of the lake and the Mediterranean tradition. Among his signature dishes, the appetizers – just fabulous are Sicilian red prawns with asparagus and truffle with scallop carpaccio, black truffle, hazelnut butter and crispy parsley – and tasty dishes such as Gragnano linguine pasta with cuttlefish, peas and lemon or lamb with licorice, artichokes and pecorino romano cheese.

A real relaxing treat is the breakfast served on the private panoramic terrace, perfect before starting a day, choosing between the possibility of practicing all kinds of water sports or training in the small Technogym gym, visiting, perhaps by bike, the nearby Bellagio with its wonderful Gardens of Villa Melzi or reach the other side of the lake by boat and go for lunch in the small Lario.

The Secret

The hotel was designed to blend into the surrounding landscape: the facade is in fact made of Lombard stone, il Ceppo di Gré, typical of the area, and inspired by the rationalist architectural tradition of the lake.
