The literary debut of Sara Giovanna Carletti, known to all as Saragiò, was presented on June 21st at Casaeventi Varese. She is a publisher, event designer, jewelry designer with her Alloveyou line, table setting designer, and much more.

What unites all her projects is a tireless pursuit of beauty, allowing us to experience it too, as in the book Paris Vibes, an emotional atlas of places, atmospheres, and table settings that tell the story of Paris.

It’s the prerogative of artists and creatives to know how to create fantastic worlds. And then, there are those rare people who not only create them, but also know how to make you feel as if this world was designed just for you. And, in an instant, you feel wonderfully at the center of a story.

Paris is perhaps the most talked-about city in the world, and for this very reason, one of the most difficult to convey without repeating what has already been written.

In the book, the five neighborhoods—Montmartre, Opéra, Saint-Germain, Seine, Le Marais—that chart the course of the book do not necessarily correspond to the most iconic, but rather to those that have become part of the author’s sentimental geography over time. Places to return to, rather than places to visit.

These are joined by five protagonists of contemporary creativity—Marin Montagut, Serge Lutens, Astier de Villatte, Cordelia de Castellane, and Sarah Andelman—figures and entities who continue to interpret Paris through design, craftsmanship, perfume, decoration, and aesthetic research.

The heart of the volume is entrusted to the forty Vibes—from Boudoir to Breton Navy, from Cabinet de Curiosités to Dandy—not itineraries or simple chapters, but atmospheres. Each represents a possible interpretation of the city, a doorway through which to enter a different experience of Paris. Each Vibe unfolds like a Hero’s Experience, a journey built around places, addresses, details, and suggestions capable of conveying a specific state of mind.

Alongside the story, the scenography of the table introduces a further level of interpretation: not models to be replicated, but compositions that translate an atmosphere into a dialogue between colours, materials, shapes and proportions (and re-proposed in the many events and courses organized at Casaeventi Varese). Because even a table can tell the story of a place, evoke a memory and become part of the travel experience.

The concluding pages finally invite the reader to play. But, as often happens in the most successful games, behind the lightness lies a small exercise in awareness. An invitation to question one’s own way of observing, choosing and remembering, transforming the journey into something that continues even after the return.

The Secret

Casaeventi is a unique venue in Varese and Lombardy, born from Sara Giovanna Carletti’s dream of creating her own personal “wonderland” and making it available to guests to share convivial moments and unique experiences, all strictly tailor-made. After extensive research, she found her ideal space on the first floor of Palazzo Sommaruga, a charming Art Deco building built in the 1930s near the central Piazza Monte Grappa, where she fell in love with the enormous industrial-style iron and glass windows that reminded her of those of late 19th-century greenhouses.
